HostMilano is the world's leading professional hotel and catering industry exhibition, and it is an event that all operators in the Ho.Re.Ca. (hotels, restaurants, catering) industry must attend. The main thematic areas include catering, bread, pizza and pasta, coffee, tea, bars and coffee machines, vending machines, ice cream, pastries, furniture, tableware and technology.
As of November 2024, over 1,200 exhibitors have registered, with 40% of them being international exhibitors from 43 countries and regions. This internationalization is also reflected in the selection of high-budget buyers from 75 countries and regions: these purchasing managers and business decision-makers come from all over the world, including Europe, the United States, Canada, Brazil, and even buyers from Samoa or Fiji who travel great distances to attend the event.
According to a recent study by ExportPlanning analysis agency, in 2023, the global value of various industries represented by HostMilano was 234.4 billion euros (a compound annual growth rate of +5.1% from 2020 to 2023). Among them, the international trade volume reached 177 billion euros, and it is expected to reach 216.3 billion euros by 2027 (a compound annual growth rate of 5.1%).
HOST's new feature "White Bread Art"
One of the new features of the HostMilano exhibition in 2025 is a strong focus on "White Bread Art" (Arte Bianca). The bread industry, which has an exclusive brand image of the historic Milan bread, pizza, and pasta exhibition (MIPPP), is leading in MIPPP - the Milan Bread, Pizza, Pasta Exhibition (Milano Pane Pizza Pasta). This exhibition is supported by an agreement reached with the SIPAN alliance (which brings together leading enterprises in the Italian industrial technology sector).
The World Barista Championship Returns to Milan
As the long-standing international coffee exhibition (Salone Internazionale del Caffe, abbreviated as SIC), this edition is particularly remarkable: It not only brings together major players and outstanding small and medium-sized enterprises along the coffee value chain, but also welcomes the highly anticipated World Barista Championship™ organized by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), which makes its return to the Milan International Hotel Supplies Exhibition after many years. This demonstrates the growing influence of the International Coffee Exhibition (Salone Internazionale del Caffe, abbreviated as SIC).
The Smart Label 2025 HOST Innovation Award kicks off
The 7th Ho.Re.Ca. Most Innovative Product Award - Smart Label - 2025 HOST Innovation Award will be launched. This award is jointly promoted by HostMilano, Fiera Milano and the POLI.design of the Milan Polytechnic University, and is sponsored by the Association of Industrial Designers (ADI). It aims to promote sustainable innovation in the HostMilano industry field.
The Smart Label-2025 HOST Innovation Award focuses on four macro areas: intelligent labels, innovative intelligent labels, green intelligent labels, and special mentions. These proposals not only emphasize the importance of co-creation and user experience, sharing of products and activities, but also highly value sustainable development, connectivity, and solutions that meet new food styles and promote food inclusiveness. These trends are leading the innovative direction of the future hotel and catering industries.
Leading the trend of "carbon neutrality" activities
Host leads the trend of "carbon neutrality" activities, exploring green and sustainable solutions. Fiera Milano, the international exhibition center, is actively working towards achieving the goal of "carbon neutrality" activities. By enhancing the environmental awareness of exhibitors and visitors, and implementing positive behavioral measures within the organization, the center has set clear environmental protection goals. The aim is to reduce the impact on the environment and respond positively to international net-zero carbon activity initiatives, striving to halve the greenhouse gas emissions of international events by 2030.
We have long been committed to sustainable development. Not only have we adopted carbon dioxide as the refrigerant in central cooling equipment, but we have also widely used gases with minimal environmental impact such as R290 and R455a. All of our refrigeration products comply with ecological design and ecological labeling standards. As we accelerate our internationalization process, especially in the United States and the Gulf countries, the Host platform is crucial for us to promote these environmental protection concepts to the international market.

In today's globalized market, the boundaries of regional specialties are becoming increasingly blurred. Take Italian pies as an example. The increasing trend of online shopping has brought new opportunities for product innovation. During the production stage, we use high-performance materials to enhance baking efficiency, shorten the time and save energy; during the sales stage, we use certified recyclable raw materials, prioritize the sustainable development concept, and strive to make customers recognize the importance of this commitment.
-- Luca Sala (Marketing Director of Novacart)
The viewpoints of these industry insiders collectively reveal that new consumption habits are driving the exploration of innovative solutions, ranging from LED lighting and advanced temperature control systems, to the application of environmentally friendly and sustainable packaging materials. HostMilano2025 is working hand in hand with the Milan International Exhibition Center and its exhibitors to contribute to achieving a greener and more sustainable future.
